New Appointments
Donald
E. Wilson, M.D., M.A.C.P., has been
appointed senior vice president for Health
Sciences to the Howard University Health
Sciences Enterprise. Wilson will be responsible
for the overall management and leadership of the
University’s health sciences clinical and
research enterprise and the Howard University
Hospital, the College of Medicine, the College
of Dentistry, the College of Pharmacy, Nursing
and Allied Health and the Health Sciences
Library.
Wilson is a member of the Board of Overseers at
Tufts University School of Medicine, and he is
the former vice president for Medical Affairs at
the University of Maryland, and dean of the
University of Maryland School of Medicine. He
has served as chairman of several federal
committees including the National Institutes of
Health’s Digestive Diseases Advisory Board, the
Food and Drug Administration’s Gastrointestinal
Drugs Advisory Committee and the Agency for
Health Care Policy and Research (Department of
Health and Human Services) Advisory Council. He
earned his bachelor’s degree from Harvard
University and doctor of medicine degree from
Tufts University School of Medicine.
Larry
Warren has been appointed chief executive
officer of Howard University Hospital. He will
assume executive leadership over the Hospital,
its clinics and the Hospital’s associated
programs. His responsibilities will include
overseeing the management, operations and
financial affairs of the Hospital, major
development opportunities and future programs
and addressing community patient-care needs.
Warren is the former chief executive officer of
the University of Michigan Hospitals. He has
served in leadership roles on numerous boards
including the Council of Teaching Hospitals, the
Michigan Hospital Association and Eastern
Michigan University Foundation. He is a graduate
of Eastern Michigan University.
Chevonne
Mansfield has been named Assistant Sports
Information Director by the Howard University
Athletics Department. Mansfield will assist in
the media relations efforts of the department’s
19 sports. She comes to Howard University from the
University of Maryland, Eastern Shore.
Mansfield has worked in many different areas of
professional sports over the past few years,
working for organizations such as the New York
Knicks, New York Jets, and New York Yankees. A
native of Long Island, N.Y., she is a graduate
of St. John’s University (N.Y.), where she
earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass
Communications. She received a Master’s Degree
in Criminology and Criminal Justice from
University of Maryland, Eastern Shore
