WHUT’s Lindsay-Johnson won the 2006 Emmy for Best Cultural Documentary

Howard University Television (WHUT) will kick off its annual summer fundraising event with an entertaining collection of musical programming featuring some of America’s most celebrated musicians. Tune in to WHUT from August 12 through September 15, for programs such as Sam Cooke: Legend, an in-depth portrait of one of R&B’s pioneers, and a special concert, Jazz Icons: Ella Fitzgerald Live in ’57 and ’63. Also, WHUT will feature Dance Party: The Teenarama Story produced by WHUT’s own Beverly Lindsay-Johnson, winner of the 2006 Emmy for Best Cultural Documentary.

WHUT is Washington, D.C.’s community station and gives the gift of these exciting programs during fundraising drives each season. Visit www.whut.org in the coming weeks for airdates and more details about how you can get involved.
