Lucile
L. Adams-Campbell, Ph.D., professor of
Medicine and director, Cancer Center Howard
University College of Medicine, has been
selected as a fellow for the 2007-2008 class of
Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM)
Program for Women. ELAM is the only national
program dedicated to preparing senior women
faculty for leadership at academic health
centers (AHCs). ELAM is a core program of the
Institute for Women’s Health and Leadership at
Drexel University College of Medicine in
Philadelphia, Penn. The ELAM curriculum combines
traditional MBA training, such as in finance and
organizational theory, that is oriented toward
the academic health center environment.
Everett Dodson has been selected to serve on the National Cancer
Institute’s Director’s Consumer Liaison Group (DCLG).
The DCLG is a Federal Advisory Committee of 16
consumer advocates who advise the NCI Director
from the viewpoint of the cancer patient.
Dodson is a clinical research associate at
the Howard University Cancer Center. He serves
as the director of Prostate Cancer Screening;
liaison of the North Central Cancer Treatment
Group Patient Advocate Committee; coordinator
for Clinical Trials and facilitator for
Community Health Education.
