Dr. Lawson Elected as Treasurer of the American Orthopsychiatry Association.

William B. Lawson, M.D., Ph.D., was elected as treasurer of the American Orthopsychiatry Association. Lawson, along with Donna Barnes, M.D. will present at the annual National Association of People of Color Against Suicide meeting in Los Angeles, California Feb. 7-9 2008. Dr. Lawson also received the Outstanding Research award from the Howard University College of Medicine.

WHUT-TV General Manager Named Chair of PBS Board

Howard University Television's General Manager, Jennifer Lawson, has been appointed Chair of the PBS Board of Trustees Station Services Committee. This important committee evaluates, reviews and establishes content and member policy for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), a membership organization comprised of the 355 public television stations nationwide. Ms. Lawson was recently elected to a second term as a Trustee of this organization.   

Award-Winning Producer Earns USC Fellowship

 Howard University Television producer, Beverly Lindsay Johnson, was awarded a competitive Fellowship at the University of Southern California.  Ms. Johnson has been a producer with Howard University Television (WHUT-TV) for several years and has won numerous awards for her work, including an Emmy for Dance Party:  The Teenarama Story.
