In Memoriam

Mrs. Irene C. Brooks, who served Howard University for more than 30 years, with the majority of her service devoted to the administrative services of Howard University Libraries, has recently passed.

Brooks began her tenure with the Freedmen's Hospital in August 1963 when she was appointed to the position of ward clerk. From September 1965 to April 1967, she served as an admitting clerk. She returned to the University in February 1978, as administrative secretary to the director of University Libraries, a position she held for 29 years. She will be greatly missed in the University community.
